Enrichment Programs

The art program at OLA allows students to explore their creative side through various mediums and techniques. From drawing and painting to sculpture and digital art, students learn to express themselves and appreciate the beauty of artistic diversity.

The Atrium, a supplemental religion program, introduces students to key aspects of Catholic traditions, including the sacraments, liturgical seasons, and stories from the Bible. Through storytelling, role-playing, and interactive materials, children gain a meaningful understanding of their faith. This class is available for Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade students.

 Our library is more than just a place for books; it is a center for learning, exploration and fostering a lifelong love of learning. Library activities include reading clubs, research projects and access to digital resources. Our library is more than just a place for books! 

 From choir to instrumental music, our students experience the joy of making music and developing their musical abilities. All students learn to read music, play the piano, and music history. Students prepare each week and provide the music our school Mass.

Physical education is a vital part of our curriculum, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy living. Students participate in a range of sports and activities that teach important life skills such as discipline, cooperation, and perseverance. 

A cutting-edge environment where students engage in hands-on, project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School is proud to be the first Catholic school in North Carolina to offer SmartLab. Students as young as Pre-Kindergarten learn coding, engineering and problem solving skills.

Offered to all students, Spanish class is a vibrant part of our curriculum. It is designed to develop students' proficiency in both conversational and written language. Beginning with basic vocabulary in the early grades, students build their language skills through engaging and interactive lessons. Cultural and religious celebrations take place throughout the school year, including a dram performance of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
